On Monday, Oct. 23, the Board of Education
appointed Mr. Daniel Porter and Dr. Lee Peters of School
Efficiency Services, Inc. to serve as consultants for the
Maplewood annexation feasibility study.
Daniel Porter served as the lead study consultant. Mr.
Porter has served since 2002 as the Deputy Executive Director of
the Rural Schools Association. Mr. Porter is a retired
Superintendent of Schools, serving as Superintendent of the
Tully Central School District for seven years, and then serving
as Superintendent of the Chittenango Central School District for
ten years before retiring in July of 2002. He is well versed in
the issues, instructional, financial, and technical that
confront New York State public school districts.
Dr. Lee Peters served as a senior study consultant to the
North Colonie and Maplewood Board of Education during their
annexation study. During his twenty-four years as District
Superintendent of the OCM BOCES in Syracuse, NY, he worked with
Boards of Education in districts with enrollments from 300
students K-8 to districts of 11,000 students K-12. Throughout
his thirty-six years as an educational leader, he made and keeps
solid contacts with other leaders throughout the country.
